Island Strategies, Inc., founded in 2001, is the state’s only lobbying and grassroots organization. Located in Uniondale, New York, it is headed by former State Assemblyman Arthur “Jerry” Kremer.
The Island Strategies team has achieved great success in a short period of time, representing clients in Washington and Albany on complex legislative and regulatory issues. In addition to handling complex matters at the federal and state level, Island Strategies has undertaken complex community outreach programs.
Gaining support or opposition to legislation is no longer a simple process. It involves recruiting allies at the local level who will express their views to their elected officials, who are often guided by their community views.
Typical of the broad reach and experience of the Island Strategies team, is its current work on the Long Island Rail Road Third Track project. This involves dealing with 56 public officials, 38 civic organizations, and required complex technical knowledge. The two-year project will help create a fast track to the proposed East Side rail access project.
